The project is aimed at supporting IDP children aged 3 to 17, from the front-line Kuril community of Kupyansk district and their families

In April 2024, families with children aged 3 to 17 were evacuated from the front-line Kuril community along with their families due to renewed offensive actions by the Russian army. These families were accommodated in Kharkiv.

Charitable organization “Charity Foundation “CodeIT4Life Ukraine” conducts a series of events aimed at supporting the evacuated children of Kupyansk district. The format of these events: a series of celebrations with activities where children can get positive emotions, make new friends, reduce stress and socialize. Also, on holidays, families of children receive humanitarian kits with hygiene products, delicacies and stationery.

The purpose of the project:

Support of the children evacuated from the zone of active hostilities, help them socialize in a new place, expand their circle of communication, improve their psycho-emotional state, facilitate relationship development between people from the same community, helping them to integrate into a new society, support families with humanitarian aid, discover free opportunities that the city provides (events are held in safe children’s spaces, which are open to visitors at any time).

Implementation

During the first two months of implementation, our team managed to:

– unite 69 children displaced from the Kuril community;

– conduct 8 entertainment events;

– distribute 135 humanitarian kits.

We responded to the request of the Kuril community and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The Department of Education in the community and the local administration provide maximum assistance in holding these events, and help communicating with parents and children.

Considering our experience of working with people from the de-occupied territories since 2022, we are aware of what exactly should be included in the humanitarian kits for the IDP families. We provided:

● laundry detergents,
● toothpastes for children,
● baby shampoos,
● adult shampoos,
● napkins,
● cleaning supplies,
● towels,
● other small things for families to settle in a new place.

Sets with sweets include: bars, biscuits, juice, waffles, cookies, croissants. Sweets and drinks are a pleasure that brings smiles to children and teenagers, and also lifts the mood after activities.

We are thankful to our partners who responded and helped in the implementation of the "United.Kids" project.

Active hostilities in Kharkiv region do not subside, children cannot return home, that is why this project is ongoing and we will support it as long as it is relevant for the young generation.
